Orange Shirt Day, on September 30, honours the students who attended residential schools. Its origins stem from an Elder reflecting on a new orange shirt she wore on the first day at a residential school and how it was taken away from her and replaced with a uniform. °µºÚ±¬ÁϹÙÍø schools are participating in learning activities to reflect on the indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools, to discuss how this impacted indigenous families, and offer hope for generations to come.
